SeriesSuspended Moments

Originally this was to be a stand alone piece, consisting of only the first image shown below; but, the response was huge and people told me I needed to do more like this one.  After some thought, a friend came up with the series name and I came up with the content.  There are a total of four in the series and they will each be a season: A Peaceful Winter Moment, A Tender Spring Moment, A Relaxing Summer Moment, and A Playful Fall Moment.  Having Belgian horses myself, I wanted the series to revolve around them.  Each piece in the series will have at least two Belgians and a fence in the background somewhere.  The completed series can be seen below.

"A PEACEFUL WINTER MOMENT"

A Peaceful Winter Moment by Erich Fritz

Original is a 16” x 20” airbrushed acrylic painting on Masonite.
This piece was inspired by two things.  First I had seen a picture very much like this that I loved, and second a very good friend of mine has miniature horses and I have drafts.  What better way to commemorate a friendship than this.

"A TENDER SPRING MOMENT"

A Tender Spring Moment by Erich Fritz

Original is a 16” x 20” airbrushed acrylic painting on Masonite.
This piece is to mark new beginnings. Since mares usually foal in spring, and the purple flowers throughout the field were in bloom, this image just fit.

"A RELAXING SUMMER MOMENT"

A Tender Spring Moment by Erich Fritz

Original is a 16” x 20” airbrushed acrylic painting on Masonite. This is the third in the Suspended Moments series. Covering the seasons, I wanted to give the viewer the feeling of a really hot day where the horses retreated to a cool pond for relief. I have seen my horses do this on many occasions and wanted to incorporate that awesome image into the series. I did break from the fence in the background in this piece because it crowded the top portion. I had painted it in and then went back and removed it.

"A PLAYFUL FALL MOMENT"

A Tender Spring Moment by Erich Fritz

Original is a 16” x 20” airbrushed acrylic painting on Masonite. This is the fourth and final piece in the Suspended Moments Series. I wanted to capture the action and movement of these magnificent animals in full stride with the beautiful fall colors behind them. I again left the fence out of this piece because it crowded the horses too much. I wanted it to feel open and wild, as if the viewer was to go out to saddle up and caught a glimpse of them running and playing with each other.
